Cheyenne Terminal, WY

Overview

Cheyenne Rail Hub (CRH) is a crude oil storage, blending, and crude oil unit train loading facility that capitalizes on the substantial crude oil production from the DJ Basin. CRH's operations are supported by its newly-built assets, including:

  • A SafeRack loading system with 12 positions for unit train loading
  • An internal floating roof storage tank with 150 MBbls of shell capacity
  • Loop track design
  • A 1.8-mile bi-directional pipeline with connectivity to the Bridger Swan Ranch Terminal

Crude Sourcing

Most of the crude oil condensate at CRH comes from the DJ Basin/Niobrara but we also handle heavy crude oils from Canada.

Storage

CRH currently has one customer-dedicated storage tank with 150 Mbls of total capacity and has the ability to add an additional six 100 MBbls tanks and six 150 MBbls tanks.

Rail Loading

CRH is an open, third party facility with current rail loading capacity of 110 MBbls/d, and the capability to load light crude. Other rail loading points of interest at CRH include:

  • Permitted rail loading of 140 MBbls/d of crude and 40 MBbls/d of petroleum products
  • Rail loading rack includes a SafeRack with 12 loading arms and individual meters for each arch
  • Loading station capacity of up to 140 cars per unit train
  • Duel served by both BNSF and Union Pacific
  • CRH offers transloading services in addition to unit train loading

Customers

CRH services are rendered both on a long-term and spot (non-contracted) basis. Spot customers deliver crude and refined products to CRH by truck and are then pumped directly into rail tank cars. CRH works with the spot customers and rail service providers to coordinate the loading logistics.
